All products on the appliance (except opFlow) now support free licenses (which are not time-limited but limited to 20 nodes). For these applications the initial dialog offers the generation of such a free license; for opFlow the licensing dialog offers guidance for obtaining a trial or a full license. Example screen shot of activating free Open-AudIT trial below:
Navigating to the opLicense module on your server will provide you with an overview of your current product installation and license states. The standard URL is http://<your_system_name_or_ip>/omk/opLicense/, and the view will include all installed and activated products and their license status similar to the following:
Single module vs bundle licensing
Typically licenses are provided in bundles which can be applied via the opLicense module on your server. Applying a bundle license requires internet access as you will be prompted to enter your opmantek username and password.
There may be occasions where you want to only update a single module or you don’t have internet access. To upgrade your licenses in this case, you need to install each module's license key separately. The license key for each module can be found by logging into your account at opmantek.com. To apply a single license key, simply copy the license key, select the “Enter a License Key” option in opLicense and paste the key into the panel provided.

Traffic light system
When you view the status of a node, you will see it’s displayed as either Green (Reachable), Yellow (Degraded) or Red (unreachable). This is commonly referred to as the Opmantek traffic light system.
- Green = Good/healthy. No issues detected with this device.
- Yellow = Potentially unhealthy. Device is still reachable and working but has detected issues that should be investigated.
- Red = Device cannot be reached and monitored by NMIS. This device should be investigated as it’s likely to have a major issue.
